The Economic and financial Crimes Commission have arrested a former Presidential Spokesman to President Goodluck Jonathan, Reuben Abati for allegedly receiving some money from the  former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.
Dasuki is been prosecuted by the EFCC for allegedly laundering the sum of $2.1 billion meant to be used to purchase weapons to fight Boko Haram.

Some other former top officials who have been implicated in the case are, Ex-Rivers governor, Peter Odili (N100m), Ex-Sokoto governor, Attahiru Bafarawa (N100m), Ex-Zamfara governor, Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi (N100m), Ex-Anambra governor, Jim Nwobodo (N500m, Ex-PDP BoT chairman, Chief Tony Anenih (N260m), Ex-PDP National Chairman Ahmadu Ali (N100m), Bode George (N100m/ $30,000), Yerima Abdullahi (N100m), Olu Falae (N100m), Tanko Yakassai (N63m), Raymond Dokpesi (N2.1bn), Ex-PDP National Chairman Mohammed Bello Haliru and his son, Abba Mohammed (N300m), Sagir Attahiru, serving and former members of the House of Representatives (N300m) and Olisa Metuh among others.
Meanwhile, a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Bala Mohammed, has also been arrested by the anti-graft agency.
Mohammed was arrested at the airport on arrival in the country.
